VocalizeIoT is excited to announce the SmartKazi Lab, an innovative four-week hybrid training programme designed to equip TVET learners with practical skills in the Internet of Things (IoT) while strengthening connections between education and industry.
The programme is designed to give learners an opportunity to move beyond theoretical learning and engage with hands-on IoT projects, industry opportunities, and practical problem-solving. Through a blended learning approach, participants will develop technical competencies while working towards the development of their own IoT solutions.
Who Can Apply?
The SmartKazi Lab is open to:
- Prospective TVET learners
- New and continuing TVET learners
- Completed TVET learners
Women and youth are particularly encouraged to apply as the programme seeks to broaden access to emerging digital skills and opportunities.
What Does the Programme Offer?
Over the four-week programme, participants will benefit from:
- Hands-on IoT training focused on practical application
- Industry linkages to help learners understand real-world opportunities
- A Capstone Project where participants will develop IoT solutions
- An IoT Certificate upon completion
- Access to the WaziLab Solution Box and a tablet for the best-performing student
The programme is designed to help learners build practical skills that can support further learning, employment, entrepreneurship, and participation in the growing digital economy.
Programme Requirements
Applicants should have:
- A KCSE certificate with a minimum grade of D+
- Writing materials
- The ability to participate in remote learning, including access to reliable internet connectivity and a laptop
Participants are expected to demonstrate commitment throughout the programme, actively participate in the training, develop an IoT solution, and remain available for the full four weeks.
