VocalizeIoT is set to host IoT Day 2026 Kenya on 29th April 2026 at The Nairobi National Polytechnic (TNNP) from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This event will bring together key stakeholders from across the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) ecosystem to explore how the Internet of Things (IoT) is driving innovation, sustainability, and skills development in the digital era.
Organised under the VocalizeIoT initiative—an EU-funded project focused on strengthening digital capacity in VET institutions—the event highlights the growing importance of IoT in aligning training systems with the evolving demands of the job market, particularly within the digital and green economy.
Advancing Skills for a Digital and Green Future
As industries increasingly adopt smart technologies, there is a rising need for a workforce equipped with practical, future-ready skills. IoT Day 2026 will showcase how IoT competencies can empower students, trainers, and institutions to respond to emerging opportunities in areas such as smart energy, environmental monitoring, automation, and sustainable infrastructure.
The event will also serve as a platform to present progress made under the VocalizeIoT project in developing an IoT curriculum tailored for TVET institutions, as well as ongoing efforts toward certification in collaboration with TVET-CDACC.

Participants can look forward to an engaging and informative programme that includes:
- Presentation of the IoT Curriculum Draft for TVETs, highlighting key learning modules and practical training approaches
- Insights from TVET-CDACC on the curriculum design and certification process
- Exploration of opportunities in the Digital and Green Industry, including career pathways and innovation potential
- Application showcases by TVET students and SME innovators, demonstrating real-world IoT solutions
These sessions are designed to foster knowledge exchange, inspire innovation, and strengthen collaboration between education providers, industry players, and policymakers.
