VocalizeIoT is proud to announce the official kickoff of the second cohort of the VocalizeIoT Short Course at VETA Kipawa ICT Centre and The Nairobi National Polytechnic (TNNP).
Following the success of the first intake, this new cohort marks another important step in strengthening industry-relevant IoT skills within Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across the region.
Building Advanced IoT Competencies
Over the next few months, participating students will undergo structured, hands-on training across a comprehensive set of IoT modules, including:
Power Supply Systems
Sensors and Actuators
Microcontrollers and Embedded Systems
PCB Design and Prototyping
IoT Cloud Architecture
Communication Protocols
The course combines theoretical foundations with practical application, ensuring that learners not only understand core concepts but can also design and deploy functional IoT solutions.
Expected Learning Outcomes
By the end of the training, students will be able to:
Design and implement IoT solutions for diverse real-world applications
Develop IoT-enabled devices using appropriate sensors, actuators, and communication technologies
Analyse and interpret data collected from IoT devices to support informed decision-making
Address scalability, security, and performance challenges in large-scale IoT networks
Collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams to deploy IoT systems in practical environments
This second cohort reinforces VocalizeIoT’s commitment to equipping TVET learners with future-ready digital skills that enhance employability, innovation, and entrepreneurship. As industries increasingly adopt smart technologies and connected systems, building IoT competencies at the vocational level is critical to bridging the digital skills gap.
Through continued collaboration with institutional partners, VocalizeIoT is contributing to a stronger innovation ecosystem—one where technical excellence is matched with problem-solving, teamwork, and industry alignment.
We look forward to following this cohort’s journey and showcasing the innovative solutions they will develop in the months ahead.
