On November 27, 2024, the VocalizeIoT project successfully hosted a hands-on IoT workshop at the Nairobi Technical Training Institute (NTTI). Facilitated by Solomon Githu, Joseph Musya, and Brian Keya from Waziup, the session aimed to equip trainers with the knowledge and tools to integrate IoT into practical learning.
The workshop focused on exploring WaziDev boards, DHT11 sensors, and the WaziGate platform. Participants learned how to program the devices using Arduino IDE, send environmental data (temperature and humidity) to the WaziCloud, and visualize it on interactive dashboards. This exercise allowed trainers to build a basic IoT weather monitoring system, providing hands-on experience in sensor integration, data transmission, and cloud-based visualization.
Next Steps
Participants were encouraged to continue developing their skills using the Solution Box and resources on WaziLab to advance their expertise further.
This workshop highlights Waziup’s commitment to empowering educators with tools and knowledge for climate-smart solutions. Stay tuned for more updates!
