VocalizeIoT Strengthens Momentum with Kenyan Partners Meeting at Strathmore University

Nairobi, Kenya – April 17, 2025 — The VocalizeIoT project continues to advance its mission of bridging the IoT skills gap in Africa with a successful Kenyan Partners Meeting held on April 11th, 2025, at @iLabAfrica, Strathmore University. The event brought together national stakeholders to evaluate project progress, expand vocational training efforts, and enhance the WaziLab learning platform with innovative tools and content.

Key Focus Areas

The meeting featured a comprehensive review of work packages and deliverables, alongside strategic discussions on integrating Vocational Education and Training (VET) into WaziLab. Partners also explored the development of new design thinking materials to boost engagement and interactivity for learners.

Project Achievements

The VocalizeIoT team shared several significant milestones:

  • ✅ Train-the-Trainers Program: Conducted at The Nairobi National Polytechnic and VETA Kipawa in Tanzania, training over 20 educators through an intensive hybrid format.

  • ✅ Ongoing Training Cohort: Currently, 35 students at NTTI are being mentored by 5 trained facilitators, participating in five hybrid sessions weekly.

  • ✅ WaziLab Content Development: New learning modules have been successfully structured to support expanded, practical IoT education.

Looking Ahead

  • The project plans to launch a second training cohort in October 2025, increasing access to hands-on IoT education.
  • Roll out interactive WaziLab features, including quizzes, exams, and structured feedback systems to enhance learning outcomes.
